just a little smudge

Today's project is smudging. I'm supposed to use a wet medium, drag an object over it, blot it with a piece of paper, drip water on it and blow. With a dry medium, I rub with my finger, use some kind of solvent and drag it along the ground. Experiment with different materials.

I started with the dry medium and used a charcoal pencil. I dripped some alcohol over it (rubbing alcohol 'cause any other kind would be alcohol abuse) and then drug it on the porch floor.

I tried the wet medium next and used some yellow acrylic paint. Dripped some water on it and blew. Didn't really have much of an affect.

Next I colored in the charcoal tree with a brown water color pencil and green marker. I added drops of water and rubbed it in.

Mixed two shades of blue and drug a small container over it.

I was thinking it was going to be rather unimpressive, but it turned out pretty ok.
